Talib Admits To Tackling Brown By Facemask On Purpose

Charlotte, N.C. — Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib is no stranger to controversy, and he has stirred up more with his comments about his facemask penalty on Panthers’ wide receiver Corey Brown in the Super Bowl.

Early in the second quarter, Brown caught a pass and Talib grabbed Brown’s facemask and used it to throw the Panthers’ receiver to the ground.  Now, Talib has admitted to using Brown’s facemask to tackle him on purpose.

Per Talib.

“[The facemask] I just did on purpose, and I just had to show him. It’s probably going to be a fine, but, hey, we’re world champs.â€

Talib continued.

“My teammates knew what it was. He (Brown) was on the 3-yard line. (After the) personal foul, he was on the 1-and-a-half-yard line. So it is what it is.â€

Talib wanted to make a point, and after hearing this I’m sure the league will want to make a point as well. Reports say that the league is considering a suspension for Talib’s actions.
