How Much Money We Need to Live Comfortably

ust living isn't the same as living comfortably.

We all know cost of living has spiked in recent years but that’s just half the story. Just living isn’t the same as living comfortably. Being able to afford basic pleasures and not living paycheck to paycheck requires more money. A new study from SmartAsset.com has determined the amount needed to live comfortably in 99 U.S. cities and the numbers are high. The average salary needed to live comfortably in a major city is 96-thousand-500 dollars for one person…and roughly 235-thousand for a family of four. The highest for an individual is New York, where you need a roughly 138-thousand dollar salary. The lowest is Houston, where a single adult must earn about 75-thousand dollars a year.
