Stellantis Places Recall On Over 280,000 Vehicles

The recall covers over 280,000 vehicles including certain 2018-2021 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 cars.

Stellantis has placed a recall on thousands of Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 cars due to an issue with airbags.

The recall covers over 280,000 vehicles including certain 2018-2021 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 cars.

An investigation revealed that “some of the affected vehicles may have had moisture introduced into the inflator.” The moisture likely caused corrosion in the inflator, which could lead to the rupture.

If the inflator bursts, compressed gas could rapidly release from the inflator with material potentially propelled through the car.

The automaker has received two warranty claims and five reports connected to the issue but no accidents or injuries have been reported.

Owners should take their vehicles to a dealership which will replace both side airbags free of charge.
