Margaret Ann Tyler Port
Margaret Ann Tyler Port, 59, a beloved mother and the widow of Anthony Eugene “Tony” Port, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, October 10, 2010, at the Tidelands Hospice House. Mrs. Port, a daughter of Carlyle Tyler and Earline Ray Tyler, was born on May 16, 1951 in Hemingway. She was the 1969 Valedictorian of Hemingway High School. She was a retired financial analyst of the Accounting Department of Wellman Industries. She was part of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church family and after marrying Mr. Port was affectionately accepted into the Center Baptist Church family. Her legacy to her family is one of Honor, Integrity, and Perseverance. In death she has been set free and she will experience the ultimate of holiday joy as she celebrates Christmas, her favorite holiday, with the Christ born to set us free. She leaves behind: three children, Carlette Poston, Eric Pope, and Felicia Port; four grandchildren; five brothers, Jimmy Tyler, Bennie Ray (Kathy) Tyler, Eugene (Beth) Tyler, Danny Tyler, and David (Jane) Tyler; four sisters, Jeanette (Edward) Larrimore, Katherine Cribb, Teresa (Michael) Altman, and Dianne Hicks; a number of uncles and aunts, and nieces and nephews.
