Joseph Ray Hemby, Sr.

July 14th, 1947 – October 10th, 2010 Funeral services for Joseph Ray Hemby, Sr., 63, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010 at North Hartsville Baptist Church. The Rev. Ladell Humphries will officiate and Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is serving the family. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mr. Hemby died Sunday, October 10, 2010. Born in Hartsville, SC, he was a son of the late Joe and Sadie Segars Hemby. He was employed 42 years with Mar-Mac Manufacturing and was the Vice-President of Manufacturing. He enjoyed golf and fishing and especially enjoyed watching his granddaughters dance and play sports. Surviving are his wife, Debby Sellers Hemby of Wateree, SC; son, Ray (Brandy) Hemby of Hartsville, SC; daughter, Heather Hemby of Hartsville, SC; brother, Dawson (Judy) Hemby of Hartsville, SC; granddaughters, Whitney Hemby, Zoey Hemby, Harley Liles; nephew, Brad Hemby; his little white dog, Chelsea.
