Darlington County Hosts Ground Breaking Ceremony For New School

The school is expected to serve nearly 630 students with an expansion capacity of up to 800.

The Darlington County School District broke ground on a new school Thursday.

The new elementary school, which has not been named yet, will be located on North Governor Williams Highway off of Leavenworth Road.

The school is expected to serve nearly 630 students with an expansion capacity of up to 800.

It will consolidate students from Rosenwald and St. John’s Elementary Schools.

The new school is expected to open for the 2025-26 school year.
