President Biden and Donald Trump won the Michigan primaries Tuesday.
Michigan secured Trump’s fifth state on the Republican primary calendar. He had 67% of the vote in comparison to his last standing opponent Nikki Haley who had 27%.
Though Trump won, Haley performed strongest in areas with colleges and the suburbs shining light on Trump’s weaker area where people believe he broke the law in one or more of the criminal cases against him.
Meanwhile, President Biden faced uncertain results as a campaign organized by activists who disapprove of his handling of the war in Gaza, urged people to cast ballots for “uncommitted,” which earned 13.3% of the votes.
The notable percentage could signal weakness with parts of the Democratic base in a state Biden can hardly afford to lose in November.
