Cutting Meat from Your Diet Might Prevent Snoring
It may be due to healthy eating reducing the risk of obesity and inflammation.
A person’s diet may impact a their risk of developing obstructive sleep apnea. In the first large-scale analysis of a U.S. survey on health and nutrition, researchers looked at responses from more than fourteen thousand people. Finding those who ate a more plant-based healthy diet were less likely to snore. This style of eating appeared to lower the risk in men more than women, which study authors note is important because it emphasizes the need for personalized dietary interventions. The team did not determine why eating this way reduced sleep apnea risk…but, they believe it may be due to healthy eating reducing the risk of obesity and inflammation.
