Suspect Arrested In Connection To Double Homicide Investigation

On Monday, Robeson County police responded to the 500 block of Fodiesville Road in the Shannon community on reports of a shooting incident.

A suspect has been arrested in connection to a double homicide investigation.

On Monday, Robeson County police responded to the 500 block of Fodiesville Road in the Shannon community on reports of a shooting incident.

Upon arrival, 31-year-old Lisa Chavis was found deceased and 30-year-old Linnie Locklear Jr. was found wounded. He was transported to a hospital where he later died.

36-year-old Jamont Smith surrendered himself to authorities Wednesday in connection to the incident. He has been charged with two-counts of first-degree murder and felony conspiracy.

Smith is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.

More arrests are likely as an investigation is still underway.
