Toyota Warns 50,000 Vehicle Owners Of Airbag Issue

Over 30 fatalities and hundreds of injuries in various automakers' vehicles have been linked to Takata air bag inflators since 2009.

Toyota has issued a “Do Not Drive” advisory.

The warning covers some 2003-2004 model year Corolla, 2003-2004 Corolla Matrix and 2004-2005 RAV4s with Takata airbag inflators.

The owners of the 50,000 older u-s vehicles are urged to get immediate recall repairs because the airbag inflator could explode, releasing shrapnel, posing risk of injuries and even death.
