Trump Scored A Record-Setting Win In The Iowa Caucuses

The results gave Trump a tighter grip on securing the GOP nomination, though it could take several more months for anyone to formally become the Republican party's standard bearer.

Former President Donald Trump scored a record-setting win in the Iowa caucuses Monday.

With around 110,298 votes counted as of Tuesday, Trump won 51% of all votes in The Hawkeye State, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with 21.2% and Former S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s 19.1 percent.

The results gave Trump a tighter grip on securing the GOP nomination, though it could take several more months for anyone to formally become the Republican party’s standard bearer.

DeSantis’ second-place win may have provided the slight boost he needed in Iowa where he invested the majority of his resources.

Haley, on the other hand, went into the caucuses with lower expectations, as she’s focused much of her campaign on New Hampshire, which holds its primary on January 23rd.
