Student Who Pulled A Knife At West Florence High School On House Arrest

A judge ordered electronic monitoring for the teen and ruled he must stay off of social media.

We have an update on the incident in which a student pulled a knife and threatened an officer at West Florence High School.

Around 8:15am on December 5th, a disturbance broke out in the school’s cafeteria. When the resource officer went to investigate the situation, a 16-year-old was witnessed waving the knife at other students.

The officer ordered the student to drop the weapon when he reportedly threatened them with the knife. The authority figure then took quick action and retrieved the weapon within minutes.

No injuries were reported.

The teen was detained at the SC Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia. He has now been released to the custody of his parents and placed on house arrest.
