GPS Helps Lake City Police Locate Bank Robbery Suspect
The bank teller complied when the suspect with a handgun demanded money and was able to place a GPS tracker in with the money.
We now know additional information on the bank robbery incident that unfolded on Monday.
Around 10:30a.m. Lake City police were called to the TD Bank located on West Main Street on reports of an alleged armed robbery.
The bank teller complied when the suspect with a handgun demanded money and was able to place a GPS tracker in with the money.
The tracker allowed police to locate 64-year-old Wayne Powell. He was arrested around 20 minutes later.
Powell has been charged with bank robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is now being held at the Florence County Detention Center on a $35,000 bond.
