Student Suspended After Gun Found In Backpack On School Grounds

This is the second instance of a student bringing a gun on Robeson County school grounds in the past two weeks.

A student of Pembroke Middle School was suspended after officials discovered a gun in his backpack.

On Monday, another student reported a tip to officials, which led school administration to finding the handgun in the 15-year-old’s bag.

The student was suspended for 10 days and must take part in a hearing to determine if he will face a year-long suspension following the incident.

The gun was not loaded and there were no injuries reported.
