Lyft To Offer Deal For Holiday Travelers

Over 55 million Americans are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home this Thanksgiving.

AAA released its travel forecast and it is the third-highest forecast for Thanksgiving in 23 years.

Over 55 million Americans are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home. This years expectancy is 2.3% higher than last year. The travel period only covers from November 22nd to the 26th.

If you’re one of those people planning to travel, Lyft may have just the deal for you.

The rideshare company announced new guidelines that scheduled rides to the airport will be covered in most major U.S. markets by Lyft’s on-time pickup promise.

If the ride is not on-time, the company will pay the traveler $20 in Lyft cash. Riders who are not automatically matched with a new driver 10 minutes after their scheduled pickup time will then instead receive $50 in Lyft cash.

Travelers who are not matched with a driver and decide to schedule another ride to the airport with a different company, such as Uber, can then request up to an additional $50 in Lyft cash for $100 in total, per Lyft.
