House Lawmakers Ruled In Favor To Censure Rep. Reshida Tlaib

The censure resolution claimed Tlaib has been promoting false narratives regarding the Hamas attack on Israel.

House lawmakers ruled in favor to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib.

Tlaib is the only Palestinian American in Congress. The Democrat has openly embraced the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” which is a pro-Palestine chant that has drawn scrutiny from Israel and its supporters.

The slogan is said to be, “widely recognized as a genocidal call to violence to destroy the state of Israel and its people.”

Tlaib, who posted a video of protestors chanting the slogan on social media, has defended the words saying it was a call for freedom and peace not death and hate.

The censure resolution claimed Tlaib has been promoting false narratives regarding the Hamas attack on Israel that killed over 1,400 people. She was also accused of seeking destruction of israel, a charge she rejected.

The resolution passed 234 to 188 with 22 Democrats voting in favor and four Republicans opposing.
