Georgetown Police Are Investigating A Shooting Incident

Authorities discovered a 17-year-old had been grazed by a bullet while driving a vehicle that was struck twice by gunfire.

The Georgetown Police Department has opened an investigation into a shooting incident.

Shortly before 1pm Monday afternoon, officers reported to the 1900 block of Winyah Street in response to a shots fired call.

Authorities discovered a 17-year-old had been grazed by a bullet while driving a vehicle that was struck twice by gunfire. The teen fled the scene before officers arrived so they were unable to gather any statements.

Investigators later found the vehicle driven by the victim on Congaree Road where they were told the teen fled on foot.

A residence on Winyah Street was also struck by one bullet but no injuries were reported.
