2028 Olympics In Los Angeles Will Have Five Additional Sports

The 2028 games will be the first time the U.S. hosts the global sports tournament since 2002.

Five sports are expected to be added to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

The International Olympic Committee’s executive board approved the sports that are in line with American culture.

Cricket, Lacrosse, along with Baseball and Softball, have been played at past Olympic games, while Flag Football and Squash will make their Olympic debut.

The 2028 Olympic additions were decided upon after analysis by the IOC, which looked over several criteria. The sports were evaluated based on cost and complexity for the host, their ability to put athlete health and safety first, their global appeal, gender equality, integrity and fairness as well as their environmental sustainability.
