Man Arrested For DUI After Striking 2-Year-Old In Hit And Run

The child was transported by helicopter to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Sunday evening, a 2-year-old was struck in a hit and run incident in Georgetown County.

The child was hit on Harmony Hills Drive and the driver, 42-year-old Florentino Cruz-Guerrero, fled the scene. He was later found in the Harmony Hills neighborhood after the collision where he was apprehended.

The child was transported by helicopter to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Cruz-Guerrero has been charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license. He is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
