Second GOP Debate Participants Revealed
To qualify a candidate must meet a unique donor threshold, a minimum polling requirement and signed pledges that include supporting the party's eventual nominee.
The Republican candidates who qualified for the second GOP debate have been revealed and one did not make the list.
Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson fell short of qualifying for the debate after failing to meet the criteria needed to participate. Doug Burgum, Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Tim Scott, are all set to take the stage at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California on Wednesday.
To qualify a candidate must meet a unique donor threshold, a minimum polling requirement and signed pledges that include supporting the party’s eventual nominee. Hutchinson failed to meet the polling threshold.
Former President Donald Trump surpassed the first two requirements, but he refused to sign the party pledges which meant he did not qualify though he did not plan to attend anyway. Trump skipped the first debate and instead of making it to the second he is planning to speak in Detroit on his alliance with the United Auto Workers who are on strike.
