A Federal Judge Deemed DACA Unlawful

DACA is a program that protects eligible immigrants, who came to America when they were children, from being deported.

For the second time, a federal judge has declared the Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals program unlawful.

DACA was first created in 2012 under the Obama administration. It is a program that protects eligible immigrants, who came to America when they were children, from being deported. DACA grants the undocumented immigrants protection and a work permit.

Judge Andre Hanen maintained that DACA is unlawful and argued the rule violates the administrative procedure act, which is a law that governs how agencies make regulations. However, the order does not require for any action to be taken against any DACA participants.

Nearly 600 thousand people in the U.S. are labeled as ‘Dreamers’ that reside in the country through the program.
