Guests Evacuated After Fire Broke Out At A Myrtle Beach Hotel

Myrtle Beach Fire Department and Horry County Fire Rescue crews were on the scene after a fire at Captain's Quarters Resort broke out in the bowling alley on the sixth floor of the structure.

A fire occurred at a Myrtle Beach hotel Wednesday morning and nearly 1,000 people were forced to evacuate.

The fire was quickly put out and the situation was under control, but the building had to be closed. Guests were sent in floor by floor to grab their belongings before being shuttled to the Landmark Resort and other hotels nearby for new lodging.

No guests were injured, but three firefighters were treated for dehydration.

The incident is now under investigation and city officials will have to declare when the resort can be re-opened.
