Five Americans Detained In Iran Have Been Released To House Arrest

Five Americans who were detained in Iran have now been placed under house arrest.

Negotiations between Tehran and Washington have been ongoing over the past two years. The two countries reached an agreement to free the Americans in exchange for several jailed Iranians and around $6 billion in Iranian oil revenue.

All five of the American prisoners were imprisoned on unsubstantiated charges of spying. They have now reportedly been transferred from Tehran’s Evin Prison to a hotel.

Details into the efforts to return the Americans back to the U.S. have not been publicly revealed at this time.
