Trump Pleads Not Guilty In Regards To His Third Indictment
The charges are conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiring to obstruct an official proceeding, obstructing a congressional proceeding and conspiracy against voting rights.
On Thursday, Donald Trump appeared in court for the first time in regards to his third indictment in four months.
Federal prosecutors allege that the former president was determined to remain in power after losing the 2020 election, and he orchestrated a plot to reverse the results that sparked the January 6th attack on the Capitol in 2021.
Trump pleaded not guilty to four criminal charges and was released pending trial. The charges are conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiring to obstruct an official proceeding, obstructing a congressional proceeding and conspiracy against voting rights.
The former president is now facing 78 criminal charges total in three cases and his next hearing is scheduled for August 28th.
