N.C. Republican Lawmakers Propose Rule Changes To Schools In The State
There are 16 sections that touch various topics regarding discipline, transfers, gender identity, and more.
Republican senators in North Carolina introduced an abundance of proposed rule changes at schools across the state.
In a bill filed earlier this week, there are 16 sections that touch various topics regarding discipline, transfers, gender identity, and more. Several sections cover new rules for school libraries as well.
Parents could gain access to their children’s library records to make sure the books they read are appropriate. Any books that contain nudity or sexually activity would be removed from libraries and public hearings will be held for certain new materials to allow opinions on whether the book can be adopted or not.
Parents would have to give consent for students to participate in extracurricular activities and given the right to appeal to a superior court for violations of the fundamental right to parent.
