Former Texas Congressman Will Hurd has announced he is running for president.

The 45-year-old was first elected to serve Texas’s 23rd Congressional District in 2014. He was reelected by narrow margins twice before retiring before the 2020 election.

Hurd has now entered the race against 11 other Republican candidates. He shared that his decision to enter the race was something he and his wife decided to do after realizing “we are living in complicated times.”
