The S.C. Supreme Court is set to hear arguments in a challenge to the state’s new law banning most abortions around six weeks of pregnancy.
Governor McMaster signed the “Fetal Heartbeat and Protection From Abortion Act” late last month, but less than 24 hour later, a ruling by Judge Clifton Newton kept the law from going into effect until it could be reviewed by the state justices.
Oral arguments in the case are set to be held on June 27th.
