Thousands Of Ford Bronco SUV’s Recalled Due To Seatbelt Difficulties
Ford shared that the issue can be addressed by putting a barrette clip or a sliding clip latch on the belt itself to keep the latch portion of the belt in position.
A recall has been placed on the Ford Bronco, but not for a very serious reason.
Ford is having to recall 176 thousand Ford Bronco SUV’s with model years of 2021 to 2023 after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration discovered that drivers and front seat passengers experience difficulty reaching the metal portion of the seatbelt when it is in the retracted position.
The notice from the safety regulator shared that customers may be dissatisfied or discouraged if they are unable to easily access the belt in its stowed position prompting them to ignore using the belt, which could lead to risk of injury in a crash.
The recall involves only the five-door version of the Bronco.
Ford shared that the issue can be addressed by putting a barrette clip or a sliding clip latch on the belt itself to keep the latch portion of the belt in position.
The recall was placed after the problem came up during a standard examination by the NHTSA.
No official complaints from customers have been filed.
