USDA Could Ban Chocolate Milk from School Cafeterias
If flavored milk is kept within schools it may face new limits on added sugars.
A cafeteria favorite…chocolate milk in elementary and middle school cafeterias could soon be banned. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is considering the ban. A report says the USDA, which regulates school lunches, is concerned about added sugars in flavored milk products. Strawberry milk and other flavors could also face the ban. Some public health advocates favor limiting the products while others oppose it…saying it’ll cause children to drink less milk. If flavored milk is kept within schools it may face new limits on added sugars.
