The School Foundation Passes Milestone – Exceeding $2.1 Million in Grants to Florence 1 Schools

Educators in Florence were given an opportunity to apply for grants from The School foundation, the largest education non-profit in the state.

Educators in Florence were given an opportunity to apply for grants from The School Foundation, the largest education non-profit in the state.  Coming to a classroom near you in Florence, 6 grants totaling $166,940.   Among the projects approved were things like: an elementary leader in me program for every student at Briggs elementary, a star lab that brings stars, planets and constellations to life, a program to allow some gifted students to take advanced classes, technology carts, and even one program even brings virtual reality to the science classroom.  To date the school foundation has awarded 2.1 million ($2,137,512) in grants to Florence One Schools.  It’s possible through support of the community and donors.   Also, the “Dancing for our Future Stars” event that Audra has cohosted with Ed Love for 11 years is an annual fundraiser for this event.
