Judge Denies Requst for Mistrial from Donald Trump
The request was in writer E. Jean Carroll's civil rape and defamation case.
An attorney for Donald Trump has asked for a mistrial in a case against the former President. The request is in writer E. Jean Carroll’s civil rape and defamation case. The mistrial comes as Trump’s lawyers accuse the judge of making pervasive, unfair and prejudicial rulings against him. Trump’s team said if a mistrial is not granted, Judge Lewis Caplan needs to correct the record for each and every instance in which the court has mischaracterized the facts of the case to the jury. Carroll accused the former President of raping her in a dressing room of a department store in the 90’s and then defaming her when she came forward decades later.
