Border Migrant Encounters Have Decreased In January

Last month, border authorities had an average of nearly 7 thousand daily encounters.
The termination of ‘Title 42’ caused an extreme increase in border crossing. The Supreme Court has now put a temporary hold on the termination leaving the legislation in place at this time.
For the month of January, migrant encounters have dropped by over half compared to last month.
