Damar Hamlin “Remarkably” Recovering

The 24-year-old was in critical condition after a tackle in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals and required CPR and resuscitation before being transported to the hospital.

Buffalo Bills player, Damar Hamlin is making great strides in his recovery after suffering cardiac arrest on the field mid-game last week.

The 24-year-old was in critical condition after a tackle in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals and required CPR and resuscitation before being transported to the hospital.

On Friday it was announced that Hamlin’s breathing tube was removed and he was breathing on his own. The team said Hamlin continues to progress “remarkably” in his recovery. His functions remain intact and he is able to talk.

Hamlin posted a photo on Twitter from a hospital bed and showed support for his team as they took on their first game since the incident. Prior to the game the stadium took a moment to celebrate the Bill’s medical team and athletic trainers and Hamlin’s jersey #3 was on display on the field as well as on his team’s jerseys.

The Buffalo Bills won against the New England Patriots 35-23 and players and fans shared tributes to Hamlin who said he wished he could have been able to join them on the field. He is expected to be released from the hospital in the upcoming days.
