The Green Sprouts company has recalled nearly 10,500 sippy cups and bottles due to lead poisoning risks.

A baby product company has recalled nearly 10,500 sippy cups and bottles due to lead poisoning risks.

Green Sprouts is a North Carolina-based company focused on “natural parenting.” The company has recalled three products: a stainless steel sippy cup, a stainless steel sippy cup with a straw, and a stainless steel straw bottle.

The recall notice explains that the base of the bottles and cups can break off which reveals a solder dot that contains lead.

The products were sold at Buy Buy Baby, Whole Foods, and online at Amazon as well as Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

Lead is toxic if ingested and can cause lasting health problems. If you purchased one of the recalled products, you should immediately throw it away and contact Green Sprouts directly for a full refund.

Green Sprouts stated they will no longer use lead for soldering any of their products.
