Russian President Putin continues to escalate his strikes on Ukrainian cities in reaction to recent defeats and setbacks.

The Ukrainian capitol was struck by drones carrying explosives a week after Russia bombarded Ukrainian civilian cities and infrastructures across the country with fatal missile attacks. Kyiv Mayor, Vladimir Klitschko, described the incident by stating “kamikaze” drones caused 5 explosions that rocked the city. It was reported that 28 drones were destined to strike Kyiv, but the majority of them were shot down.

President Biden recently vowed to provide advanced air defense systems but is being cautious due to the fear that Russia will think the U.S. is taking on more involvement in the war.
