South Carolina Death By Driving Went Down

DUI related deaths are down in South Carolina. Statistics released by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety revealed there were 262 deadly crashes between Memorial Day and Labor Day, where it was reported to be 324 last year. They also showed the total of 34,882 crashes this summer is shy of 5 thousand less than last years total. South Carolina is ranked 10th place for drunk driving deaths overall. The number of deadly crashes due to impaired driving dropped as well from 115 last year to 41. MADD is pushing the state to adjust laws and consequences for impaired drivers. They plan to release data from a court monitoring report addressing DUI conviction rates by county.
