Three People Killed After Two Planes Collide Mid-Air in California

Three people were killed after two planes collided mid-air over an airport in California. According to a statement from the FAA, a single-engine Cessna 152 and a twin-engine Cessna 340 collided during their final decent near the Watsonville Municipal Airport with one person on the Cessna 152 and two aboard the Cessna 340. Also according to the FAA, no one was injured on the ground and a pet on board one of the planes also died. City officials released a statement saying they were:

“Absolutely saddened to hear about the tragic incident that took the lives of several people” and added that “The city of Watsonville sends its deepest condolences to the friends and family of those who passed.”

Both the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
