What is Face Blindness and What Does it Have to Do with Brad Pitt?

Brad Pitt said he suffers from a medical condition that causes face blindness. He’s mentioned this several times in interviews from as early as 2013. TMZ brings it back to life in a recent article. Apparently, Brad feels folks have gotten annoyed with him over the years when he fails to recognized them. He declares it’s a medical condition. There is no indication the 58-year-old has been officially diagnosed. Anyway, here’s what TMZ posted about their finding:
Brad has talked about this struggle in the past … he just can’t recognize people by looking at their faces — even family members.
The condition is called prosopagnosia … in lay terms, face blindness. About 2 and a half percent of the population suffers from it in varying degrees. Some researchers have theorized the condition is brought on by underdevelopment in the womb.
