At Least 17 Killed After Iranian Passenger Train Derails

At least 17 people were killed and 50 more were injured after a passenger train derailed in Iran early this morning. 22 rescue teams, 10 ambulances and 3 helicopters were sent to the scene around 5:30 a.m. after five train cars derailed. There were 348 passengers on the train when it collided with an excavator while on it’s way to Yazd. Unfortunately, the death toll is expected to rise due to the severity of some of the injuries.
