Dictionary.com announced its “Word of the Year”… and it is: “Maxxing.”

It’s an internet slang term that’s been used in just about every context: looks-maxxing, protein-maxxing, status-maxxing, and on and on and on. They define it like this: “It’s short for ‘maximizing.’ it can be used on its own or added to the end of any word to convey you are doing something to the fullest, or optimizing it as much as possible.” So it’s “looks-maxxing” for optimizing your appearance and “sleep-maxxing” for hacking the best possible night’s rest.
