Mitch McConnell Returns To Senate After Three Month Absence

Mitch McConnell made it clear that he may still miss some votes due to his health issues as he is still not quite 100%.

Mitch McConnell has returned to the Senate for the first time since his June hospitalization.

The Kentucky Republican returned following a three month absence from the Senate. His absence generated a criticism and speculation, as he initially remained quiet for weeks about his condition.

The 84-year-old eventually disclosed that he had been “briefly unconscious” due to a fall. He had also been treated for mild pneumonia in the hospital. He returned in a wheelchair and reportedly spoke slowly and with some difficulty.

McConnell said he was back in the Senate to work on a pending farm bill and because he has an ongoing interest in NATO and “backing up our good friends who are totally in the fight against the Russians.”

However, McConnell made it clear that he may still miss some votes due to his health issues as he is still not quite 100%.
