Trump Says $5K Dividend Checks Will “Happen 100%”

The president vowed the checks would be sent out to Americans if Republicans maintain its majorities in the House and Senate after the midterm elections.

On Sunday, President Trump said $5,000 dividend checks will “happen 100%.’

The president vowed the checks would be sent out to Americans if Republicans maintain its majorities in the House and Senate after the midterm elections. The president compared the potential payouts to the over $1,000 checks that went out to U.S. service members.

“The $5,000 is going to happen 100 percent,” he said. “And the reason is because our country is taking in trillions and trillions of dollars. And it’s going to happen.”

Trump said he will not send out the dividends while the GOP has control of Congress because if Democrats get it, he said “our country will be in shambles and they won’t be able to do it.”

Trump first pledged the checks during his keynote speech at the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention last week.
