Man Turns Himself In To Authorities Following Fatal Assault

One man has turned himself into authorities following a deadly assault.
The situation unfolded in the early hours of last Wednesday. Police were called to the Hot Spot convenience store on Smith Street in the Timmonsville area of Florence County.
26-year-old Larondre Shaw allegedly assaulted 43-year-old Roosevelt Thomas Jr. by striking him in the head. The blow caused him to lose consciousness and an “extreme hemorrhage of the brain.” Thomas was found unresponsive outside the front door. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
On Saturday, Shaw turned himself in. He faces a murder charge and is being held at the Florence County Detention Center.
