Body Of Missing 5-Year-Old Girl Recovered After Search

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office thanked everyone who assisted in the search and said it sends its deepest condolences to the young girl’s family.

The body of a missing 5-year-old has been found.

Sailor Hayes was reported missing after she wandered away from a home on Old Waccamaw Drive in the Pawleys Island area Sunday.

Multiple agencies were involved in the search on land and in water. The search included the use of a helicopter, drones, a boat, a K9, and more.

Hayes was reportedly non-verbal. Her body was found around 9:40am Monday in the water behind the home.
