Keith Holland and Quill of Joint Task Force K9s were in the studio!
Joint Task Force K9s is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of active-duty military members, combat veterans, and law enforcement officers living with disabilities such as post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries. Through K9 therapy classes and the placement of highly trained service dogs, the organization helps provide greater independence, confidence, mobility, and peace of mind while working to prevent veteran and law enforcement suicide.
In addition to pairing heroes with life-changing service dogs, Joint Task Force K9s is committed to strengthening communities through education, advocacy, and disaster response efforts, ensuring those who have served our country never have to face their challenges alone.
They also provide natural disaster response at no cost where they’re needed. Both Keith and Quill were in western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene for three weeks as well as in Texas after severe flooding.
Keith also shares details on the book, Joint Task Force K9s: Quill’s First Mission, which is based around their experience in western North Carolina. The goal is to use it to visit schools, read to students on Veterans Day and other military holidays, and host fun Q&A sessions to teach the next generation about service, rescue, and resilience.
