The space includes comfortable seating, a TV, games, coloring books, stuffed animals, a safety gate and other activities to help them feel at ease.
The Horry County Police Department has opened a new comfort room for children.
The Kid’s Comfort Room is located inside police headquarters at the M.L. Brown Public Safety Building. It’s intended for children who need to spend time at the department during investigations or other difficult circumstances.
The space includes comfortable seating, a TV, games, coloring books, stuffed animals, a safety gate and other activities to help them feel at ease.
Detectives helped develop and approve the room’s design and purpose alongside division supervisors. The project was backed by donations and support from community faith partners, local churches, and Fostering Hope of Conway.
