HGTC To Launch ‘ABILITYWorks’ Program To Help Disabled Adults

The school is preparing to launch its ‘ABILITYWorks’ workforce readiness program. The initiative aims to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities start their careers.

Officials reported that they are working with local employers to find the greatest skills needed to serve the Grand Strand. They’re looking into specializations like hospitality, tourism, and food services.

Students will also leave the program with HGTC workforce development certificates. A launch date has not been set yet as officials are still working with businesses and individuals interested in helping shape the program.
