Florence-Darlington Technical College Names Interim President

Dr. Debbie Cheek will temporarily fill the spot while the area commission reviews candidates for a long-term interim lead.

Florence-Darlington Technical College has named a new interim president.

The move comes just days after Dr. Jermaine Ford announced his resignation from the position. Dr. Debbie Cheek will temporarily fill the spot while the area commission reviews candidates for a long-term interim lead.

Cheek has been with the college since 2019, serving as Vice President of Finance and Administration since 2022. The commission said it’s confident in her ability to lead the college during this time.

Cheek said she is excited and will make sure that the school continues to prioritize the students first and work with community partners to provide them the best work force possible.
