Florida Gov. DeSantis Signs Bill To Rename Airport After Trump
The move must still be approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a new bill into law.
The legislation would rename Palm Beach International Airport as President Donald J. Trump International Airport.
The name change is scheduled to take effect on July 1. However, it must still be approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The FAA said that while changing an airport name is a “local issue,” it “must complete some administrative tasks to include updating navigational charts and databases.”
The airport is nearly five miles away from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort and he frequently flies into and out of it.
