Fiery Crash In Robeson Co. Claims The Life Of One Man

The accident unfolded shortly before 1:30pm Saturday along Interstate-95 south near mile marker 13.

A crash in Robeson County claimed the life of one person.

The accident unfolded shortly before 1:30pm Saturday along Interstate-95 south near mile marker 13.

The collision involved a commercial vehicle pulling a trailer and a Honda passenger vehicle. Both were traveling southbound when the Honda failed to reduce speed, struck the trailer and became stuck as the driver of the commercial vehicle pulled off the road. The car and the trailer both on fire.

The driver of the Honda sustained serious injuries including burns and was transported to a hospital. The passenger was identified as Jesus Prieto of Florida, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured.
